Ken Boyer (Kenton Lloyd Boyer) was born on May 20, 1931 in Liberty, Missouri. He made his Major League debut on April 12, 1955 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1955, his rookie year, he hit .264 with 18 home runs and 62 RBI. Boyer played for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Dodgers over the course of his 15 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Ken Boyer's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1964, when he slugged 24 home runs, hit for a .295 average and knocked in 119 runs. However, others believe that it was 1960, when he slugged 32 home runs, hit for a .304 average and knocked in 97 runs.
