Born on August 13, 1906 in Kernersville, North Carolina, Kemp Wicker (Kemp Caswell Wicker) played for the New York Yankees and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 4 year career. Wicker broke into the bigs on August 14, 1936 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 4.40 ERA in 88 innings pitched in 1937, his rookie year.
