Kelly Saalfeld (Kelly D. Saalfeld) was born on February 16, 1957 in Columbus, Nebraska. After going to high school at Lakeview (Columbus, NE), Saalfeld attended the University of Nebraska. Saalfeld made his professional debut in the NFL in 1980 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants for his entire 1 year career.
