College
He led the Pirates with 495 yards and three majors on 35 catches in 2000… He had 373 yards and two touchdowns in 26 receptions in 1999.
Pro
2002:
Stokes had an outstanding CFL debut campaign with the Alouettes. He played in 18 regular-season games, the 2002 East Division Final and the 2002 Grey Cup. He tallied 43 receptions for 572 yards and three touchdowns, 76 punt returns for 896 yards and another three touchdowns, 25 kickoff returns for 527 yards and seven missed field goal returns for 355 yards. He led the CFL in missed field goal returns that season.
2003:
Stokes played in 15 regular-season games for the Als plus the 2003 East Division Championship and the 2003 Grey Cup. He hauled in 33 passes for 429 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed 19 times for 71 yards. He amassed 60 punt returns for 539 yards and a touchdown, adding 23 kickoff returns for 455 yards and nine missed field goal returns for 506 yards and two more scores. All told, Stokes recorded exactly 2,000 all-purpose yards for the season. He tried out with the NFL Miami Dolphins.
2004:
Stokes was one of the most exciting players in the CFL during the 2004 season and was awarded the CFL’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player Award. He was also named to the CFL All-Star Team. Stokes broke a Winnipeg Football Club record for most punt returns for a touchdown with four. He also had one kick off return for a touchdown. Stokes finished the season with 80 punt returns for 949 yards and four touchdowns and had 56 kickoff returns for 1,112 yards and one touchdown. He also had nine missed field goal returns for 138 yards.
2005:
Stokes was once again his usual productive self on special teams. For the second straight year he led the Bombers in kickoff returns with 47 for 1,022 yards and a 21.7 yard average. He ranked fourth overall in the CFL in kickoff return yards. Stokes was also the Bomber leader in punt returns (79), one of which he took all the way for a touchdown, and punt return yardage (662). He also returned five missed field goals for 185 yards.
2006:
Stokes played in 14 regular season games for the Toronto Argonauts, hauling in 20 passes for 253 yards. On special teams, he returned 39 punts for 363 yards and a 9.3-yard average and added 28 kickoff returns for 528 yards and an 18.9-yard average. Stokes also had four catches for 43 yards in the Argos’ 31-27 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the 2006 CFL East Semi-Final at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.
2007:
Stokes was a late edition to the Blue Bombers this past season, but he made a significant impact. In the final two games of the regular season he accumulated 392 all-purpose yards. In the post-season Stokes gained 468 combined yards, including an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown in the East Final against Toronto.
Stokes signed with Edmonton on April 7 2008.
