Former Indiana Hoosier Keith Smart's 16-foot baseline jumper with four seconds left in the 1987 championship game beat Syracuse and gave Bob Knight his third NCAA title. Smart, one of only four Hoosiers to score in the game, put up 12 of Indiana's last 15 points, including the two biggies, in the 74-73 win.
