Keith Neubert
[edit] Biography
Keith Neubert (Keith Robert Neubert) was a first team all-state basketball player (Addidas,Street&Smith All-America - maybe more)at Fort Atkinson High School in Wisconsin. He went on to attend the University of Nebraska - he played four years of basketball for the Cornhuskers. He played in the Final Four of the NIT and NCAA basketball tourneys during his NU bball career. Neubert also played tight end for the Nebraska football team his senior season and was drafted by the NFL's New York Jets. He spent 1988-89-90 with the JETS. After playing only one season of football at NU, the former Cornhusker basketball player went on to become a starting tight end for the Jets, before- injuring his back? and spent his final season(s) on IR for Rich Kotite's Phila Eagles.
Most people believe that 1989-90 was Keith Neubert's best year - one of the top statisical receiving tight ends in the NFL. (32 rec, 385 yds)
John Madden reported in a trivia quiz that Newbert fouled out of 12 basketball games in one season at Nebraska. This would make him the only NFL Football player to hold an NCAA D-1 basketball record.
