Kay Eakin (Oliver Kay Eakin, Jr.) was born on August 3, 1917 in Atkins, Arkansas. After going to high school at Marianna (AR), Eakin attended the University of Arkansas. Eakin made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the New York Giants. He played in the NFL for 2 years, playing for the New York Giants the entire time. Eakin also played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Miami Seahawks the entire time.

Most people believe that 1946 was Kay Eakin's best year, as he had a 41.4 yard punt average.
