Karl Rubke (Karl John Rubke) was born on December 6, 1935 in Los Angeles, California. After going to high school at Mount Carmel (Los Angeles, CA), Rubke attended Santa Rosa Junior College and the University of Southern California. Rubke made his professional debut in the NFL in 1957 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played in the NFL for 11 year, playing for the San Francisco 49ers, Atlanta Falcons and Minnesota Vikings over the course of his 11 year NFL career.Rubke also played in the AFL for 1 year, playing for the Oakland Raiders the entire time.

Most people believe that 1957 was Karl Rubke's best year.
