Karl Chandler (Karl Victor Chandler) was born on February 15, 1952 in Newton Square, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Newton (Newton Square, PA), Chandler attended Princeton University. Chandler made his professional debut in the NFL in 1974 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants and Detroit Lions over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1978 was Karl Chandler's best year.
