Mark Redman (W, 3-4) stopped KC's losing ways on Wednesday by pitching 8 strong innings of 4 hit ball against the Angels. The left hander held the Angels to 3 runs while the KC offense capitalized on the Angels's 49th error of the season to win 4-3. Redman only threw one bad pitch and that was to Robb Quinlan in the 2nd when he nailed a 3 run home run to left center field. Other than that, the Angels proved that they can not hit lefties nor field the ball cleanly. Thier 49th error of the season allowed Mark Grudzielanek, who had aready hit his 3rd HR of the season in the 1st, to drive in John Buck in the 6th and paved the way for an RBI ground out by Doug Mientkiewicz to tie the game, 3-3. The Royals took the lead in the 8th when Matt Stairs singled in David DeJesus. Kelvim Escobar (5-7) got a no-decision for the Angels lowering his ERA to 3.62, while Scot Shields who gave up the run in the 8th took the loss to fall to 3-4.
