KOMMISH REPORT - NFL WEEK 9 READ IT & WEEP

Lets get serious, shall we…..

SD @ MIN – This could be a RB showdown. LT vs. AP 1. I don’t think this will be the last time this matchup may come in the NFL. I expect both coaches to show who’s RB is better. AP of course is on pace to try and show in “his house” that HE is the MAN. LT & Gates should have a field day as usual, but after last weeks lack luster performance by LT – FFL owners be worried if Rivers keeps throwing the ball. SD wins in a nailbitter though…..by 3.

CAR @ TEN – Ok, Carr is back in and Vinny is now out. Can the Panther offense get going? I don’t think so. I expect Vince Young to come out and show his doubters that he can lead. I expect Tenn to blow out Carolina here and this puts Steve Smith on the trade market next year and Fox will be out of a job. That’s right, they lose today – forget playoffs. Tenn by 12.

Arizona @ TB – Jeff Garcia – does he have the fountain of youth hidden somewhere we don’t know? TB isn’t making a whole lot of noise but just enough to keep them into the playoff hunt. The Arizona Cardnals have to stop shuffling QB’s. The offense is still inconsistent. Arizona needs to show the balance of run & pass like Green Bay has. They have a pro bowl RB and good WR’s. They need to get it moving. TB still wins by 5.

WASH @ NYJ – No defense here. I expect a shootout. Washington will come out on top though by 13. Santana Moss has been a major disappointment this year and Randle El has shown (when thrown to) that he can be a spark to this offense. Cooley seems to be the only mainstay for this team and expect Campbell to show some more leadership on Sunday.

JAC @ NO – Jags' defense vs Bush – I am benching Bush for this game. Jags DEF is very tough and NO hasn’t shown that they are willing to let Bush take control. Stecker is sharing too much in carries and it doesn’t make for good FFL owners of Bush. This game will be a snoozer. Jags by 4. I don’t see either team getting into the 20’s fyi.

SF @ ATL – Snoozer #2 FFL owners are in shock the way SF has played and Gore cant get points if SF is so far behind in each game. Leftwich now playing for ATL will now get the WR of this team catches – yes, the WR’s will catch the ball. NO MIKE VICK – means it’s a TEAM again. I think Leftwich is the new savior for this team. They rally behind him and I expect ATL to win by 9. --- CORRECTION - Leftwich is out! This changes up everything and this game is really going to suck majorly! Pick ur own winner like you would pick your own nose, sometimes you get a juicy one, sometimes you get a crusty one.

CIN @ BUF – Back 2 back trips to the east coast for Cinncy. UPDATE: Weather looks clear for today's game and its COLD. This could still play and impact on throwing a block of ice at receivers. I still expect a good running game, but watch out for those cramps - Buffalo pulls out this win though by 2.

DEN @ DET – All right, the Lions are making a liar out of me. I expected them to get smoked by Chicago last week and I think someone read my article to em. They came out with a D-town boot stomp. Denver’s defense is the worst run DEF in the league and I’m starting KJ – so should you. Detroit at home by 9.

GB @ KC – The question here is which KC team is going to show up. If the sleek KC offensive team shows up, this game could be interesting – if not. Its snoozer #3. GB found themselves a RB in Ryan Grant and I’m interested to see how he plays against another defense before really starting him. But this does give Favre  some new options – as we say in OT Monday night.

SEA @ CLE – The Browns are a surprise this year, but here is another true test. IF they beat Seattle, it will be the biggest win they get this year. IF Seattle wins, they get out of their funk. START EVERYBODY FFL wise. This game should be an offensive celebration. Will “MR. ANDERSON” thrown another 5 TD’s??? Jamal Lewis is back, so you have a running game. And of course Cleveland has its offensive weapons in Edwards and Winslow. Seattle counters with Matt & Alexander. But his WR’s are not so spectacular, but you never know against Cleveland who can be a start. Coin flip your own winner here. (I’m from Cleveland so….ya know).

HOU @ OAK – Sage – who knew? I am expecting a good game here. Believe it or not I am considering this a GAME OF THE WEEK. I am bummed I’m not going to be able to see it (I’ll be in Cleveland – it’s an afternoon game too). I expect the Texans to right their ship and get back on track. A nice sunny day in CA should do them so good. Daunte Culpepper will have a nice outing too. Oakland is still trying to work on some new offensive schemes for Daunte and hopefully this week could show it. I still think Texans by 4.

NE @ IND – “THE” GAME OF THE WEEK – Please. All of the “hype” build up is just that. This game will just be one that finally shows that both of these teams do have a DEFENSE. Don’t expect the high scoring games that NE has had in the past 8 weeks. Remember, we WILL see this game again in January. Pick your own winners and of course you’d be stupid not to start any FFL player in this game. That includes the defense.

DAL @ PHI – Now with the Andy Reid issue going on, I think the Eagles will win this game just for him. To take the issues off the coaches mind and let him get to do what he does best, coach. Dallas of course is coming in hungry to keep up with GB and homefield advantage for the playoffs. START everybody FFL owners are foaming at the mouth in this game. Since this is the night game – you all might be exhausted after the NE/INDY game – but this one will suck you dry. Get another beer for this game.

BAL @ PIT – Now of course if you think that the NE/INDY game wont get mentioned in the first 5 mins of this game, then I’ll buy everyone a beer. This game is going to be overshadowed just like the DAL/PHI game will too. This is a who cares game for MNF. I know that it’s a divisional matchup and with a Browns win and a Ravens loss, could put the Browns in 2 nd? What am I saying?? Pitt by 8. Steelers should have a field day against the slowly disappearing DEF of the Ravens. Start Ben, Willie & Hines, but also Santonio Holmes too.

Good luck to all of us this week - and as always, these opinions and views are not the views of Armchair, just me 49erminer. I am not held responsible for your own FFL picks, starters and/or NFL bets that you make or place. These are just my own personal suggestions. Take em or leave em for what they're worth. You are responsible for yourself. So don’t come crying to me next week.
