Born on April 30, 1907 in Greene, Rhode Island, Jumbo Brown (Walter George Brown) played for the Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, New York Giants and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 12 year career. Brown broke into the bigs on August 26, 1925 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 4.53 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched in 1932, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jumbo Brown's best season was 1938, when he posted a 1.80 ERA.
