The first Major League All-Star game is played at Commiskey Park in Chicago. The American League won the game, 4-2, thanks to two home runs from Babe Ruth

Willie McCovey played in his final major league game after a 22 year Hall of Fame career. He had a sacrifice fly for an RBI in a pinch hit appearance.
