Jug Earp (Francis Louis Earp) was born on July 22, 1897 in Monmouth, Illinois. Earp attended Monmouth University. Earp made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Rock Island Independents. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Rock Island Independents the entire time. Earp also played in the NFL for 11 year, playing for the Green Bay Packers, New York Yankees and Rock Island Independents over the course of his 11 year NFL career.
