Joy Berquist (Joy Theodore John Berquist) was born on July 30, 1901 in Loomis, Nebraska. After going to high school at Holdredge (NE) and Lincoln (NE), Berquist attended the University of Nebraska. Berquist made his professional debut in the NFL in 1924 with the Kansas City Blues. He played for the Chicago Cardinals, Kansas City Cowboys and Kansas City Blues over the course of his 3 year career.
