Jovanovski Rumors Reappear

Over the summer, pundits and experts alike had Ed Jovanovski playing for different teams other than the Phoenix Coyotes, notably the New York Islanders and the New York Rangers. They pointed to his high priced salary that Phoenix couldn't afford, and his age, where the Coyotes were going younger not older, and finally, quite possibly, people could not believe that he would play for such a bad team.
Two years ago, Jovanovski chose the Valley. I'm sure he had choices to go elsewhere - especially those teams that had a the chance to hoist the Stanley Cup sooner than the Coyotes - but the one item he wanted was a no-trade clause in his contract, which then general manager Mike Barnett granted.
Over the summer, if the Coyotes approached Jovanovski about waiving his no-trade clause, he refused because he is still here with the team. If the Coyotes have since asked him to waive his no trade clause, he still hasn't as he now has a new partner in Freddy Meyer on defense.
One would think logic would prevail in a silly matter such as this, but logic seems to not work among some hockey fans because good defensemen are difficult to come by and the Coyotes have depth in that position. However, no matter how much one argues with logic, these speculations still persist.
Situations may change as circumstances warrant, but Jovanovski, for now, isn't going anywhere. The rumors will continue to fester though as many want to make names for themselves, but at least there are those out there that think Jovanovski becoming a New York Ranger is a folly proposition at best.
