These players, for the first time this year as a whole, looked like a team that has given up on itself. Their bad and now they know it! Now, if the management would realize it, and admit their mistakes that have led up to this reality, maybe then they could begin fixing the problems instead of talking themselves into a false since of hope. Before you get on me, I know you can't typically blame management for injuries but they made some terrible moves this past off season especially with regards to the bull pen and not resigning veteran players, and while Hinch may be a nice knowledgable front office guy, he doesn't have the gravitas with the players or the fans to lead a team that is sadly lacking in leadership. In my opinion true organizational advocacy would now focus on how much of the sub-standard performance should be attributed to the G. M. and take the necessary steps to turn this organization around. If the ownership does I hope they choose someone that has gravitas.
