Joe Connolly (Joseph Francis Connolly) was born on February 1, 1884 in North Smithfield, Rhode Island. He made his Major League debut on April 10, 1913 for the Boston Braves. In 1913, his rookie year, he hit .281 with 5 home runs and 57 RBI. Connolly played for the Boston Braves for his entire 4 year career.
There is some disagreement on what was Joe Connolly's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1914, when he hit for a .306 average and knocked in 65 runs. However, others believe that it was 1913, when he hit for a .281 average and knocked in 57 runs.
