Born on December 19, 1973 in Tijuana, Baja California (Mexico), Jose Silva (Jose Leonel Silva) played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Pittsburgh Pirates and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 7 year career. Silva broke into the bigs on September 10, 1996 with the Toronto Blue Jays, and put up a 4.40 ERA in 100.1 innings pitched in 1998, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Jose Silva's best season was 2000, when he won 11 games and struck out 98 batters.
