Last night in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Jose Offerman made headlines.
In a game against the Bridgeport Bluefish, Offerman, a former All-Star, homered in the first inning. The next inning, Offerman was hit by the second pitch of the at bat. The funny thing about the pitch....
IT WAS A SLIDER!!
Who's going to pitch at someone by throwing a slider at them??
Next thing you know, Offerman points the bat at the pitcher, Matt Beech, and then took off towards the mound, bat in hand. He swings once at the pitcher, hitting him in his right hand. The swing breaks the pitchers middle finger. Then he rears back to strike the pitcher again. He whacks the catcher, who's trying to protect the pitcher, right in the head. The catcher, John Nathans, recieves a concussion, and will likely miss the rest of the season.
Offerman is arrested, and posts bail at $10,000.
He needs to be suspended for life. That is ridiculous that he would even attempt to try to do that.
What do you guys think?????
