Jose Cruz (Jose Luis Cruz) was born on April 19, 1974 in Arroyo, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on May 31, 1997 for the Toronto Blue Jays. In 1997, his rookie year, he hit .248 with 26 home runs and 68 RBI. Cruz played for the Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, San Francisco Giants, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that Jose Cruz's best season was 2001, when he slugged 34 home runs, stole 32 bases and knocked in 88 runs.
