Jose Baez (Jose Antonio Baez) was born on December 31, 1953 in San Cristobal, San Cristobal (Dominican Republic). He made his Major League debut on April 6, 1977 for the Seattle Mariners. In 1977, his rookie year, he hit .259 with 1 home run and 17 RBI. Baez played for the Seattle Mariners for his entire 2 year career.
