Jose Alvarez

Born on April 12, 1956 in Tampa, Florida, Jose Alvarez (Jose Lino Alvarez) played for the Atlanta Braves for his entire 4 year career. Alvarez broke into the bigs on October 1, 1981 with the Atlanta Braves, and put up a 2.99 ERA in 102.1 innings pitched in 1988, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Jose Alvarez's best season was 1988, when he posted a 2.99 ERA and struck out 81 batters.
