Jose' Canseco's Got My Back

9
Vote

by Pjtitus

Remember back in early July when I posed the outrageous possibility that everybody's favorite slugging SS might be/might have used banned performance enhancing drugs?

Does it sound so outrageous now that Jose Canseco is suggesting that the idea has merit? If there wasn't an element of truth here, would Canseco expose himself to a libel suit of this proportion?

Say what you want about him. But, Canseco's words on banned performance enhancing drugs in the MLB have entirely vindicated him on that score, as the retired teammate of A-Rod, Mr. Palmeiro can attest.

So you don't find it strange that at the height of Alex Rodriguez's media coverage whether it be bad or good, that Canseco has conveniently released his second book? No one talks to this goon anymore after he wrote his first book.

I'm starting to think that his first "tell-all" book was actually a "tell-some-and-keep-some-material-for-future-writings"! But until someone, anyone, accuses him of lying (that hasn't happened yet!), he's the only person remotely associated with baseball that hasn't lied about the sport's drug problem.

You mean except for those 17 major league seasons he played on steroids and didn't tell anyone...right?

There was a lot of stuff that was blatently incorrect - and some stuff that was dead on...

He really was blackballed, but it wasn't because of steroids. It was because everyone grows weary of him quickly.

Hey Jose, lets not bring up all the coke, etc. you did...

Here is Canseco's credibility: 'I once ran the 40 in 3.9 seconds'.

Haha..When did he say that?

I believe it was in his first book. Michael Smith and Eric Casilis (sp?) were talking about it on Mike and Mike. Deion Sanders is the legendary 40 runner and he did it in 4.1. I almost got into a wreck from laughing so hard when I heard that on my way to work.

Thats Canseco for ya. I think the fastest player in college football runs the 40 in just under 4.2

No way... I know I can drink a 40 faster than him (and more than 3.9 seconds)! Maybe it was feet and not yards?

Jose Canseco bumped me in the shoulder in 1988. Seriously! (I only read the title)
