Born on March 3, 1979 in Caracas, Distrito Federal (Venezuela), Jorge Julio (Jorge Dandys (Tapia) Julio) played for the Baltimore Orioles, New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks over the course of his 6 year career. Julio broke into the bigs on April 26, 2001 with the Baltimore Orioles, and put up a 1.99 ERA in 68 innings pitched in 2002, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jorge Julio's best season was 2002, when he posted a 1.99 ERA, notched 25 saves and struck out 55 batters.
