Born on April 2, 1970 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jon Lieber (Jonathan Ray Lieber) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 12 year career. Lieber broke into the bigs on May 15, 1994 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 3.73 ERA in 108.2 innings pitched in 1994, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Jon Lieber's best season was 2001, when he posted a 3.80 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 148 batters.
