Acquired:

Signed as a free agent April 30, 2007 with the Calgary Stampeders.

Entering his 1st season in the CFL.

College:

2006 – (Kansas)

In his senior season with the University of Kansas Jayhawks, Cornish set career marks, having 250 rushes for a total of 1,457 yards…He also recorded eight touchdowns (7 rush and 1 receiving) and caught 24 passes for 194 receiving yards.

2005 – (Kansas)

Cornish played in all 12 games of his junior season and was awarded the John Hadl Award for most valuable offensive player of the year on his college team...Cornish led his team in all rushing categories with 780 total yards, 9 rushing touchdowns and rushing yards per game and yards per carry with 65 and 5.8, respectively…His efforts in the classroom made him an Academic All-Big 12 second-team selection.

2004 – (Kansas)

Dressed for 10 of the team’s 12 games as a backup running back and special team’s player...He was selected to the Academic All-Big 12 second-team and the Athletic Director's Honor Roll.

2003 – (Kansas)

Backup running back who was a key performer on special teams...Appeared in all 13 games as a reserve...Gained three yards in his only rushing attempt of the season.

2002 – (Kansas)

Received a medical redshirt...One of six true freshmen to see action...Appeared in one game (at UNLV) before an injury prevented him from participating in the remainder of the 2002 season...Recorded two kickoff returns for 30 yards at UNLV.

Personal:

Rushed for 3,200 career yards and 49 touchdowns as a three-year letter winner for Saint Thomas More High School…Cornish averaged 14.9 yards per carry while rushing for 2,136 yards and 31 touchdowns as a senior and had a single-game best of 336 yards and four touchdowns as a running back...Defensively, Cornish was credited with 152 career tackles, including 89 his senior season and holds his school career record for quarterback sacks (37)…The British Columbia native earned a combined eight letters in football, basketball and track and was a three-time most valuable player in football...He was selected the British Columbia Provincial Player of the Year helping his team to three conference championships and the Burnaby Bowl Championship for three years.
