Johnny Rucker (John Joel Rucker) was born on January 15, 1917 in Crabapple, Georgia. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1940 for the New York Giants. In 1940, his rookie year, he hit .296 with 4 home runs and 23 RBI. Rucker played for the New York Giants for his entire 6 year career.
Most people believe that Johnny Rucker's best season was 1941, when he hit for a .288 average.
