Johnny Rizzo (John Costa Rizzo) was born on July 30, 1912 in Houston, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 19, 1938 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1938, his rookie year, he hit .301 with 23 home runs and 111 RBI. Rizzo played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Philadelphia Phillies, Cincinnati Reds and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that Johnny Rizzo's best season was 1938, when he slugged 23 home runs, hit for a .301 average and knocked in 111 runs.
