Johnny Quast (John Henry Quast) was born on April 4, 1900 in Louisville, Kentucky. After going to high school at Male (Louisville, KY), Quast attended Purdue University. Quast made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Louisville Brecks. He played for the Louisville Brecks for his entire 1 year career.
