Johnny Pesky (John Michael Pesky) was born on September 27, 1919 in Portland, Oregon. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1942 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .331 with 2 home runs and 51 RBI. Pesky played for the Boston Red Sox, Detroit Tigers and Washington Senators over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that Johnny Pesky's best season was 1946, when he hit for a .335 average and knocked in 55 runs.
