Johnny Peacock (John Gaston Peacock) was born on January 10, 1910 in Fremont, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on September 23, 1937 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1938, his rookie year, he hit .303 with 1 home run and 39 RBI. Peacock played for the Boston Red Sox, Philadelphia Phillies and Brooklyn Dodgers over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Johnny Peacock's best season was 1939, when he hit for a .277 average.
