Johnny O'Brien (John Thomas O'Brien) was born on December 11, 1930 in South Amboy, New Jersey. He made his Major League debut on April 19, 1953 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1953, his rookie year, he hit .247 with 2 home runs and 22 RBI. O'Brien played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Braves over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Johnny O'Brien's best season was 1955, when he hit for a .299 average.
