Johnny Moore (John Francis Moore) was born on March 23, 1902 in Waterville, Connecticut. He made his Major League debut on September 15, 1928 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1932, his rookie year, he hit .305 with 13 home runs and 64 RBI. Moore played for the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Johnny Moore's best season was 1935, when he slugged 19 home runs, hit for a .323 average and knocked in 93 runs.
