Johnny Lipon (John Joseph Lipon) was born on November 10, 1922 in Martins Ferry, Ohio. He made his Major League debut on August 16, 1942 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1942, his rookie year, he hit .191 with 0 home runs and 9 RBI. Lipon played for the Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 8 year career.

Most people believe that Johnny Lipon's best season was 1950, when he hit for a .293 average and knocked in 63 runs.
