Born on September 29, 1914 in Belmore, Ohio, Johnny Johnson (John Clifford Johnson) played for the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 2 year career. Johnson broke into the bigs on April 19, 1944 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 4.26 ERA in 69.2 innings pitched in 1945, his rookie year.
