Born on April 14, 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, Johnny Hutchings (John Richard Joseph Hutchings) played for the Cincinnati Reds and Boston Braves over the course of his 6 year career. Hutchings broke into the bigs on April 26, 1940 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 3.50 ERA in 54 innings pitched in 1940, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Johnny Hutchings's best season was 1945, when he posted a 3.75 ERA and struck out 99 batters.
