Johnny Goryl (John Albert Goryl) was born on October 21, 1933 in Cumberland, Rhode Island. He made his Major League debut on September 20, 1957 for the Chicago Cubs. In 1958, his rookie year, he hit .242 with 4 home runs and 14 RBI. Goryl played for the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins over the course of his 6 year career.
Most people believe that Johnny Goryl's best season was 1963, when he hit for a .287 average.
