Johnny Gilroy (John Roland Gilroy) was born on March 5, 1896 in , MA. After going to high school at Haverhill (MA), Gilroy attended Georgetown University. Gilroy made his professional debut in the APFA in 1920 with the Cleveland Tigers. He played in the APFA for 2 years, playing for the Washington Senators and Cleveland Tigers over the course of his 2 year APFA career.Gilroy also played in the AFLG for 1 year, playing for the Boston Bulldogs the entire time.
