Johnny Dooley (John M. Dooley) was born on September 29, 1897 in Fairmount, New York. After going to high school at Solvay (NY), Dooley attended Bucknell University and Syracuse University. Dooley made his professional debut in the APFA in 1921 with the Syracuse Pros. He played in the APFA for 1 year, playing for the Syracuse Pros the entire time. Dooley also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Rochester Jeffersons the entire time.
