Johnny Dickshot (John Oscar Dickshot) was born on January 24, 1910 in Waukegan, Illinois. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1936 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 1937, his rookie year, he hit .254 with 3 home runs and 33 RBI. Dickshot played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, New York Giants and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Johnny Dickshot's best season was 1945, when he hit for a .302 average and knocked in 58 runs.
