Born on March 31, 1891 in Vaughn, Montana, Johnny Couch (John Daniel Couch) played for the Detroit Tigers, Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 5 year career. Couch broke into the bigs on April 11, 1917 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 3.89 ERA in 264 innings pitched in 1922, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Johnny Couch's best season was 1922, when he posted a 3.89 ERA and won 16 games.
