Johnny Budd (John Walter Budd) was born on January 14, 1899 in Newton, New Jersey. After going to high school at Blair Academy (Blairstown, NJ), Budd attended Lafayette College. Budd made his professional debut in the NFL in 1926 with the Frankford Yellow Jackets. He played for the Pottsville Maroons and Frankford Yellow Jackets over the course of his 3 year career.
