[edit] Biography

Born on October 3, 1909 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, Johnny Broaca (John Joseph Broaca) played for the New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians over the course of his 5 year career. Broaca broke into the bigs on June 2, 1934 with the New York Yankees, and put up a 4.16 ERA in 177.1 innings pitched in 1934, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Johnny Broaca's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1935, when he posted a 3.58 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 78 batters. However, others believe that it was 1936, when he posted a 4.24 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 84 batters.
