Johnny Bero (John George Bero) was born on December 22, 1922 in Gary, West Virginia. He made his Major League debut on September 26, 1948 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1951, his rookie year, he hit .213 with 5 home runs and 17 RBI. Bero played for the Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 2 year career.
