Born on May 25, 1918 in Nashville, Tennessee, Johnny Beazley (John Andrew Beazley) played for the St. Louis Cardinals and Boston Braves over the course of his 6 year career. Beazley broke into the bigs on September 28, 1941 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 2.13 ERA in 215.1 innings pitched in 1942, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Johnny Beazley's best season was 1942, when he posted a 2.13 ERA, won 21 games and struck out 91 batters.
