Johnny Babich

Born on May 14, 1913 in Albion, California, Johnny Babich (John Charles Babich) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves and Philadelphia Athletics over the course of his 5 year career. Babich broke into the bigs on June 19, 1934 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and put up a 4.20 ERA in 135 innings pitched in 1934, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Johnny Babich's best season was 1940, when he posted a 3.73 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 94 batters.
