Johnny Armstrong (John A. Armstrong, Jr.) in , KS. After going to high school at Hutchinson (KS), Armstrong attended the University of Dubuque. Armstrong made his professional debut in the NFL in 1923 with the Rock Island Independents. He played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Rock Island Independents the entire time.
