Johnnie Layport (John Evans Layport) was born on March 19, 1901 in Pataskala, Ohio. After going to high school at East (Cincinnati, OH) and Loveland (OH), Layport attended The College of Wooster. Layport made his professional debut in the NFL in 1924 with the Columbus Tigers. He played for the Dayton Triangles and Columbus Tigers over the course of his 3 year career.
