John Ward (John Henry Ward) was born on May 27, 1948 in Enid, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Will Rogers (Tulsa, OK), Ward attended Oklahoma State University. Ward made his professional debut in the NFL in 1970 with the Minnesota Vikings. He played for the Minnesota Vikings and Tampa Bay Buccaneers over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that 1971 was John Ward's best year.
